Feria Tantoco Daos, one the oldest Filipino-founded law firms in the country, began 2024 by celebrating a historic milestone, marking a century of dedicated legal service. To commemorate this 100th anniversary, the firm had launched a book entitled, Feria Law: A Century of Legal Excellence and Service, detailing its humble beginnings, most momentous cases, stories from partners past and present, and prominent lawyers produced.
As poignantly noted by Name Partner, Ronald Mark S. Daos, in his welcoming address, “One hundred years ago, a vision was born. A vision that sought to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and integrity. Today, we celebrate the realization of this vision and the profound impact Feria Law Office has had on the legal landscape.”
Stepping into the future, Feria Law welcomes its new Managing Partner, Michelle Carisse Suarez-Balois, taking over from veteran corporate lawyer and exceptional leadership awardee, Michael Tantoco, who had been at the helm for over 36 years, helping transform the firm with his dedication to client-centered service and commitment to mentor the next generation of lawyers. With a wealth of experience and incredible legal and business acumen, Atty. Balois, makes history as the first female Managing Partner of Feria Law, and hopes to lead the firm into a new era of excellence.
The firm paid tribute to its Senior Partner, Jose A. Feria, Jr., who was given a lifetime achievement award, for an exemplary career that built the foundation for the Firm’s strongest client relationships and for having successfully preserved the Feria Law legacy of excellence, integrity, and service for others.
The Firm also recognized the achievements of its Of Counsels, Ruben O. Fruto and Antonio V. Viray, who having served illustrious careers in both public and private spheres, respectively, have stood as pillars of the Firm, setting inspiring examples for Feria lawyers and the legal community at large.
Finally, the firm honored loyalty of eight of its staff who had been with the firm for more than a decade, ranging from 11 to 33 years of service, a testament to the firm’s continued commitment to help better the lives of all those who become part of its story.
The Firm has stood at the forefront of legal history, helping shape companies, communities, and industries, withstanding the test of time, and maintaining a stellar reputation of integrity and service.
